Justin Timberlake can legitimately do no wrong. Neither can Chris Stapleton, who performed alongside JT at Wednesday night's CMA Awards.
"'Cause there's nothing like your love to get me high," Timberlake sang.
The duo actually sang two songs — Stapleton's song, "Tennessee Whiskey," and Timberlake's "Drink You Away."
"Out of this skin. Out of this skin," Timberlake and Stapleton sang.
Whoa. I mean, of course we knew the former *NSYNC singer could sing a wide variety of musical genres, but we learned tonight that he could easily cross over to the country world — you know, if he ever wanted to. (Video via RCA Records / Justin Timberlake, Zomba Recording / Justin Timberlake)
JT is a fan of Stapleton's, so it's no surprise that when the country star asked Timberlake to perform a duet with him at the CMAs, he said yes.
Stapleton told ABC it was as easy as calling the pop superstar to ask. Stapleton said Timberlake replied, "Yeah man, I'm in. Just tell me when to show up."
There ya go, folks. Now we know what it takes to ask Justin Timberlake to collaborate on a performance ... OK, maybe we want to sing karaoke with him. We're hoping he'd go for that.
