Goodbye, "Hello" and hello, "When We Were Young."
Adele has been giving interviews left and right promoting "25," but this is the first time we've gotten a taste of another track off the album aside from the smash single.
The promo for an upcoming interview with "60 Minutes Australia" includes almost a minute of footage of Adele performing the previously unheard track "When We Were Young." It might be our new favorite.
In her Rolling Stone interview, the British songstress called "the Elton John-ish ballad," co-written by Tobias Jesso Jr., her favorite song off the album. It was partly inspired by the Barbara Streisand tearjerker "The Way We Were." Makes sense.
The lyrics featured in the clip go as follows:
"This reminds me of when we were young/ Let me photograph you in this light, in case it is the last time/ You remind me exactly like we were before we realized/We were sad getting older made us restless/ Oh, I'm so mad I'm getting older makes me reckless/ It was just like a movie / It was just like a song, when we were young."
If this album wasn't supposed to be sad, then why are we crying, Adele?
